✈️ Guided by the Light: Remaining Grounded in Humility by LeBron Keener

Have you ever watched a plane come in for landing on a dark runway? The pilot depends on the guiding lights—the beacon—to safely touch down. Without them, even the most skilled pilot would be flying blind. That imagery reflects something powerful about our spiritual lives.

In the same way a pilot trusts the beacon to lead them home, we are called to trust the light of Jesus Christ to guide us—not to escape reality, but to remain grounded in it with grace and humility.

> "He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?"
— Micah 6:8 (NKJV)

It’s easy to desire a kind of “spiritual flight” that lifts us above our struggles. But Jesus never promised a life above the clouds—He promised to be with us in the storm, to guide us through the valleys, and to help us live with purpose right where we are.

True spiritual maturity isn't found in rising above others, but in stooping to serve them. It's found in staying rooted in humility while allowing the Spirit to move us toward love, mercy, and justice.

So today, let Christ’s light be your beacon. Let it guide you not to heights of ego, but to depths of compassion. Remain grounded in humility, and let your spirit soar—by doing God’s will.

Prayer:
Jesus, be my light. Keep me from striving after my own glory, and instead, teach me to walk humbly with You. Let my feet stay grounded in grace, and my heart take flight in obedience to Your will. Amen.
