God's Rose Garden - A Devotional By LeBron Keener

"But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it." (Romans 8:25)

Have you ever sat and watched a rosebud form - truly sat and watched, patiently, as it grows from a tiny bud into a full, radiant bloom? Probably not. Most of us don't take the time. We live our lives, and one day, we simply notice the beauty of a fully bloomed rose, forgetting the slow process it took to get there.

God’s plan for our lives is very much like the growth of a rose. It takes time, nurturing, and patience. But so often, we grow weary in the waiting. We want answers, progress, and blessings now. We want things on our schedule. But God's timing is always perfect, even when it feels slow.

Imagine a rose garden planted by God Himself. With care, love, and time, those roses grow and return year after year, stronger and more beautiful. But if we get impatient and try to rush the process - grabbing store-bought fresh cut roses instead - they may look lovely for a moment, but soon they wither and die because they’ve been cut off from their source.

It’s the same with us. When we take shortcuts or step ahead of God’s timing, what we gain might be temporarily satisfying - but it won’t last, and through time we will find ourselves cut off from God just like the store bought fresh cut roses. True, lasting growth only comes from waiting on Him. When we remain rooted in God's plan, we become a living, flourishing garden - bearing beauty that endures.

Take a moment today to ask yourself:
Am I trusting God’s timing or trying to force my own? What might He be cultivating in me during this season of waiting?

Remain in God’s eternal rose garden. Trust His timing and allow Him to work things out in His perfect way so you can truly flourish. Don’t grow impatient and settle for a quick fix - like buying store-bought roses that fade too quickly. What He’s growing for you is lasting, beautiful, and worth the wait.

Prayer:
Lord, help me to trust You in the waiting. I know You are working, even when I can’t see it. Give me the patience to grow in Your timing, not mine. Teach me to wait with hope and faith, knowing that what You are preparing will be more beautiful than anything I could rush. Make me like a rose planted in Your garden—deeply rooted, ever growing, and blooming in Your perfect season. Amen.
