⚕️The Doctor Is In - A Devotional By LeBron Keener

"Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do."
(Hebrews 4:13)

How many times have you had an upcoming doctor’s appointment and suddenly decided to “get your act together”? You start exercising, eating healthier, and going to bed earlier. But for the weeks—or even months—before that, you’ve been living on junk food, neglecting sleep, and binging TV late into the night.

You know the routine.

You think maybe, just maybe, you can fool the doctor into thinking you’re healthy. But when the tests come back—blood work, vital signs, and other evaluations—the truth shows up loud and clear. No matter how hard you tried to cover it up, your body told the truth.

Our relationship with God works in much the same way.

When our lives are overrun with sin or spiritual neglect, we might avoid certain topics, deflect conviction, or try to clean ourselves up just enough to feel okay. But no matter how we try to hide or deny our faults, our spirit speaks louder than our words. God sees through every mask.

Just like going to the doctor and pretending to be healthy doesn’t help us heal, pretending before God doesn’t lead to transformation. In fact, it hinders it. The doctor can't treat what you won’t admit. And God won’t cleanse what you refuse to confess.

So why try to hide? God already knows our hearts. There’s no benefit in pretending.

Instead, come to Him honestly. Lay it all bare. Allow the Great Physician to examine your heart and heal your spirit. Because when we stop trying to fool God and start confessing to Him with repentance, that’s when true healing begins.
